Lauren Conrad continues to climb the society ladder. Her latest appearance: The New Yorker. In "Frenemy Territory," Nancy Franklin writes, "I have yet to hear any character on the show say something interesting or funny, or see anything that expands my sense of what it’s like to be a young person in Los Angeles." Not exactly a rave review, but doesn't that come with celebrity territory? The New Yorker editors may have been thumbing their noses at The Hills' seemingly carefree California blonds; however, by putting them in their prized pages, they simultaneously just invited LC, Audrina, and Whitney into their world of cucumber sandwiches and Upper East Side galas.
