One Direction and their fans certainly go way, way back, and the dudes are celebrating that special bond with a new track, "History."
The song is from their forthcoming album, Made In The A.M. (November 13), and it's a hand-clapping, feel-good track that has 1d singing about everything they have been through -- the highs and the lows -- and fans that have supported them through it all.
"You and me got a whole lot of history/ We could be the greatest team that the world has ever seen/ You and me got a whole lot of history/ So don't let it go, we can make some more, we can live forever," the guys sing.
And fans are clearly picking up on the lyrics that promise this is "not the end," and that they will "live forever."
“More than anything, the song is about the way the fans and everyone have created this massive thing — One Direction — over the past five years," Liam told Entertainment Weekly of the song, which he described as a "modern version" of "You've Got A Friend." "Out of [‘History’] comes a little bit of closure for this chapter of One Direction.”
And if you noticed some extra voices during the chorus of the song, that's because Niall and producer Julian Bunetta decided to bring some Directioners into the studio to "record the chorus as a crowd vocal."
WHO are these Directioners and HOW did they get to do that? So jealous!
Niall also took to Twitter to say that "History" is one of his favorite songs he's ever done, and after listening to it, you can certainly understand why.
