Last year, BANKS completely won us over with her debut album Goddess, introducing us to her sinister blend of pop and R&B, and earning a place in our MTV Artist to Watch class.

Now, the 27-year-old L.A. native is back with “Better,” a synth-heavy song that highlights her aching but defiant vocals as she growls, “I can love you better than she can.” In the accompanying music video, also released Wednesday (Nov. 4), BANKS is gilded in gold while a nude woman contorts her body on the floor. It’s some seriously smoldering stuff.

BANKS joins The Weeknd’s The Madness Tour starting next week, and she told Beat 1’s Zane Lowe that we can expect her sophomore album “early, early next year.”
