Here's Why *NSYNC Had A Star In Their Name

It might sound crazy but it ain't no lie ...

'N Sync, NSYNC or *NSYNC -- no matter how you remember the stylization of the name of the boy band that spent the late '90s and early aughts tearin' up your heart, you knew these guys were straight up stars. And they might just have a famous magician-slash-psychic to thank for it.

See, there was a reason all of their albums had the five-letter acronym (which drew from the last letter in each of their names JustiN, ChriS, JoeY, LansteN and JC) set beside a star, and it has something to do with bending spoons and the entire will of the universe.

According to the Huffington Post, Joey Fatone admitted as much during a recent chat with the site, explaining that when the group was first coming onto the pop scene they got the chance to witness some of Uri Geller's illusionist tricks live and in person -- and he gave 'em some key advice about how to become the next big thing.

Fatone said that they saw Geller performing in the U.K. when they were still newbs to the boy band scene and he told them, "I see something. It has to do with suns or stars or something with astronomy in your career."

Geller himself added to the account, remembering, "Of course I bent spoons for them and they were very impressed ... We sat down and I wrote, on a napkin, NSYNC, and I drew a star in the cafe. And I told them, if they place that star on their first CD, they're going to shoot up to No. 1."

The star, he said, was meant to "bring them that connection to see the synchronicities

of the universe of success" and he thinks that by him committing his vision to paper that day it "gave them that subliminal push for it." Plus, Justin Timberlake kept the napkin.

We always knew it was fate that brought this fabulous fivesome into our lives, but we didn't quite know how written in the stars it was until just now.

Bye bye bye mind -- 'cause it's blown.
