Would someone you love still love you if you sent them a care package full of animal poo? If the answer is "yes" -- that's surprising -- we have just the website for you.
Sh-t Express is a website that caters to the packaging and mailing of animal feces. For now, horse guano is the only animal on the menu, but later iterations could expand to different animal dookie (if you'd rather mail someone a cow's meadow pies or a gorilla's su-su-sudio.)
If it seems like sending someone excrement might equal trouble for everyone involved, you're not alone. MTV News spoke to lawyer Joy Ganes, Principal of JL Ganes Law, P.C. about the legal implications of sending someone a package teeming with animal ca-ca. Unsurprisingly, you could run into some legal trouble.
"It's not the action of sending poop that's illegal, but the intent behind sending it," said Ganes. "Multiple states have anti-harrassment laws that make it a crime to humiliate, embarrass, annoy or intimidate another. If the poop is shipped merely for entertainment purposes and not for unlawful or harassment purposes then you're in the clear." So sending crap to someone you love is A-OK, we guess. ♥️ ? ?
For instance, in Iowa state, a woman named Kimberley Capdevila faced 30 days in jail for sending her neighbors cow poop from a rival poo-sending website (yes, really) called PoopSenders -- all over a dog barking. Regarding her stinky mistake, Capdevila stated, "In no way, shape or form did I intend this to be anything more than a practical joke." Her lawyer must have taught her well.
For its part, Sh-t Express states in their legal section that customers "may NOT use [their] service to threaten, constitute harassment, violate a legal restraint, or any other unlawful purpose. The customer agrees this is a gag gift, novelty service for entertainment ONLY and that is their only intension [sic]." They also release themselves of any liability in the event that you get sued or arrested, so good luck with that. ?
If you ~still~ feel the irrepressible need to send horse dung to someone, go to Sh-t Express' website.
