It's Morphin' Time For Becky G, AKA Your New Yellow Ranger

Becky G has joined the cast of the upcoming "Power Rangers" movie!

There's a new Yellow Ranger in town, and her name is Becky G.

The budding pop star has officially joined the cast of the anticipated "Power Rangers" movie as the Yellow Ranger. The exciting news was announced on the Lionsgate film's official Instagram page.

Becky G rounds out the new Power Rangers squad, which includes Naomi Scott (Pink Ranger), Ludi Lin (Black Ranger), "Me, Earl and the Dying Girl" scene-stealer RJ Cyler (Blue Ranger) and newcomer Dacre Montgomery (Red Ranger). The film is set for a 2017 release.

Screenwriters Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller (“X-Men: First Class”) wrote the screenplay for “Power Rangers,” which will follow a group of ordinary high school kids who find themselves infused with extraterrestrial powers and must harness those powers as a team to save the world.

It’s been rumored that the film will go back to the franchise’s roots, which will make fans of the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" series very happy. If so, that means Becky G will play Trini, an extremely bright and mysterious loner who, more than anything, just wants to find a group of friends.

Is anyone else super excited to see Becky G kick some serious butt alongside the Pink Ranger? We are HERE FOR IT.
