Here's How You Can Visit Diagon Alley This Halloween

Point your broomstick toward Ithaca.

Harry Potter fans may be getting a new sequel (squeeeeee!), but if you can't wait until next year to get your Potter on, consider celebrating the good news in a small Upstate New York town this Halloween (you know, in between trips to Universal Studios Orlando).

On October 31st, Ithaca, N.Y. is transforming a real alley in the town, called Press Bay Alley, into Diagon Alley as part of their Wizarding Weekend. The festivities will involve every shop on the street, with shopkeepers decked out in wizarding attire and hosting a bevy of fun Potter-themed activities, like electric broomstick reenactments, circus demonstrations, and a costume contest. And the organizers couldn't resist putting the classic New York State twist on butterbeer – they'll be serving hot cider instead.

We love everything about this, especially the fact that it's not hidden to muggles! Which shop will act as the Leaky Cauldron, we wonder? And most pressing: will we be able to pick up an owl on our way out?
