Adam Levine And Maroon 5 May Be Taking Over the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show

The band is reportedly in talks to take the stage at the 2016 game.

Next year’s Super Bowl may be getting an extra helping of “Sugar,” thanks to Maroon 5.

On Thursday (Oct. 22), E! News reported the band is in “extensive talks” to perform at the Super Bowl 50 halftime show come February. The NFL has reportedly discussed Coldplay and Bruno Mars as well, but apparently Adam Levine and Co. are the current frontrunners.

Of course, if the past few years are any indication, Maroon 5 wouldn’t be taking the field alone. Last year, we saw Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliot join Katy Perry’s shark-tastic set, and the year before, the Red Hot Chili Peppers lit up the stage during Mars’ performance.

Super Bowl 50 will take place on Feb. 7, 2016 in Santa Clara, Calif. Last year, Perry was announced as the halftime pick on Nov. 23, so we might still have some time before this is business is finalized once and for all.

In the meantime, who do YOU think should headline the most-watched television event of the year? Vote in our poll below, which includes the reported frontrunners, as well as a few of our own picks (thrown in just for fun!).
