Drake’s ‘Know Yourself’ As A Punk Song Is How You Should Start Every Day

You know how that should go.

It's hard to believe it's been eight months since we first heard Drake coin one of the defining expressions of 2015 -- "runnin' through the 6 with my woes" -- on "Know Yourself," a standout track from his If You're Reading This It's Too Late mixtape. And while "Hotline Bling" has lately become Drizzy's track du jour (and now video du jour and dance du jour as well), "Know Yourself" is holding steady as statement in its own right. Just ask fellow Torontonians Dilly Dally.

The rock band showed some hometown love to Drake during a gig at the CMJ Music Marathon over the weekend by offering their own take on runnin' through the 6 -- and by covering "Know Yourself" before ripping into their own song "Purple Rage."

As a Drake fan, this performance is admittedly a bit off-center, but that's kind of the point. From the opening guitar squeals to vocalist Katie Monks' growling of our favorite phrase, it's a thoroughly ragged take that will help you conquer the day. Today. Any day.

And "Purple Rage" is pretty great, too, in addition to being a proper introduction to a band that's amassing some serious post-CMJ buzz. Come for the Drizzy; stay for the Dilly (Dally).
