26 'Goosebumps' Movie Monsters, Ranked By Scare Factor

Reader beware, you're in for a scare.

For a '90s kid, nothing was more terrifying than R.L. Stine's bestselling "Goosebumps" series. It ruined everything for us: being alone in the dark, closets, poodles and even Pasadena, California. We seriously have enough nightmare fuel from those books to last us a lifetime. But do you know what's scarier than reading about ghouls and monsters? Actually seeing them IRL.

If you're anxiously awaiting the new "Goosebumps" movie, then today (Oct. 16) is your lucky day because the spooky film is finally out in theaters, which means you get to see some of Stine's most infamous monsters, like Slappy the Dummy and the Werewolf of Fever Swamp, come to life on the big screen. If you want a chilling look into all of the things that go bump in the night in the monster movie, MTV News has ranked all of the creepy creatures that are featured in the "Goosebumps" movie based on scare factor.

And trust us: you're definitely in for a scare.

  1. The Ghouls from "Attack of the Graveyard Ghouls"

Eh. Honestly, what's a ghoul going to do to you? Those guys are slooooow.

  2. Toy Robots from "Toy-Terror: Batteries Included"

Just knock them over and RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.

  3. Captain Long Ben One-Leg from "Creep from the Deep"

If the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise has taught us anything, it's that pirates never know what the eff they're doing. You'll be fine.

  4. Cronby the cave troll from "Deep in the Jungle of Doom"

    He's just an old grump.

  5. Snake Lady from "Escape from the Carnival of Horrors"
    Sony

Sure, she looks scary... if you're ophidiophobic.

  6. Bog Monster from "You Can't Scare Me!"

Step 1: Run. Step 2: Run faster. Then again, this guy doesn't have the best vision, so we think you'll be OK.

  7. Egyptian Princess from "Return of the Mummy"

We'll give her points for throwing major shade at all the other monsters on the block.

  8. The Creeps from "Calling All Creeps"

Why? Why do they even exist?

  9. The Blob from "The Blob That Ate Everyone"

Yes, he can eat you, but he can't move very fast. So just get in your car and drive like you're Vin Diesel in a "Fast And Furious" movie, OK? Ride or die.

  10. The Mummy from "Return of the Mummy"

The worst part about The Mummy is his smell, tbh.

  11. Vampires from "Vampire Breath"

Sharp teeth are no fun, but just grab your garlic and go.

  12. The Witch Doctor from "Deep in the Jungle of Doom"

This guy is super unpredictable, which makes him slightly more dangerous than your average doctor. Also, he practices dark ~magic~ and stuff.

  13. Madam Doom from "Help! We Have Strange Powers!"

She just knows too much. TOO MUCH. We don't trust people who have the sight.

  14. The Lord High Executioner from "A Night in Terror Tower"

Let's just say he's not getting an invite to our birthday party anytime soon. Although, dude can probably hang.

  15. Jack O’Lantern from "Attack of the Jack O’Lanterns"

The weight of his pumpkin head will most likely throw off his equilibrium, so use this to your advantage.

  16. Scarecrows from "The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight"

Scarecrows are inherently evil, but at least you can always set them on fire, which is actually kind of cool.

  17. Bug-Eyed Aliens from "Invasion of the Body Squeezers"

If you get caught in the way of their freeze rays, you're kind of effed. But these guys definitely aren't the scariest aliens in the galaxy.

  18. The Haunted Mask from "The Girl with the Haunted Mask"

Thank you R.L. Stine for giving us haunted mask nightmares for WEEKS. This is absolutely terrifying. Then again, it can't really rip you to shreds, so what's the worse that can happen?

  19. Vampire Poodle from "Please Don't Feed the Vampire!"

Poodles are smart, like really smart. So not only will this poodle drain you of all your blood, but it can also plot civilization's demise at the same time. Do not mess with this poodle.

  20. Praying Mantis from "A Shocker on Shock Street"

Nope. Nope. Nope. Here are all our nopes.

  21. The Abominable Snowman from "The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena"

On one hand, he's kinda cute because he's so curious. Just look at his big dumb face! On the other hand, he can rip you to shreds. So, yeah, he's pretty scary.

  22. The Gnomes from "Revenge of the Gnomes"

They may be small, but these lawn gnomes will f--k you up.

  23. The Werewolf from "Werewolf of Fever Swamp"

Who knew werewolves were so resilient?

  24. The Invisible Boy from "My Best Friend Is Invisible"

We're not entirely sure if the invisible boy featured in the movie is Brent Green or not -- seeing how he wasn't actually invisible in the book -- but he's pretty freakin' scary. The most terrifying monsters are always the ones you can't see.

  25. Slappy the Dummy from "Night of the Living Dummy"

As the evil mastermind of the entire film, of course Slappy ranks pretty high on our list. Not only has he ruined ventriloquist dummies for us forever, but he's also a huge a--hole.

  26. The Evil Clown from "When the Ghost Dog Howls"

Rule #1: never ever, ever f--k with clowns. They are straight-up evil.
