17 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' Questions We Need Answered Right Now

What does it all MEAN?

The first installment of "Harry Potter" spin-off trilogy "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them" is just a little over a year away (November 18, 2016, get here faster!), and new cast members are joining the roster nearly every week. Every time we learn a little more about our soon-to-be-favorite movies, however, the more we realize how little we actually know.

After all, it's not like we have an idea of the plot already. At least as the "Harry Potter" movies rolled out, we knew what to expect, since we'd read the books roughly five thousand times. And who are all these people playing? What is this world?

Ahead, 17 of the burning "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" questions that have been keeping us up at night.

  1. Who is everyone playing?

This. THIS. Literally the only familiar name in the IMDb listings so far is Newt Scamander. Who are all these people? We assume that Katherine Waterstone and Alison Sudol's Porpentina and Queenie Goldstein are related to modern-day Ravenclaw Anthony Goldstein, but are they magical? Who are all these other people? Who's the bad guy? We demand answers!

  2. Will the movie film in New York?

We've been told that the film is about magizoologist Scamander's adventures finding magical creatures in New York City, but will the cast be coming to 'Merica for any shoots? If so, when and where?

  3. Will they film on location?

OK, yes, see above, but I'd also like to know whether the cast will be out and about in London. After all, not all of the movie is in New York, and some of London was showcased in the previous films.

  4. Are the creatures practical or CGI?

Are these actors talking to tennis balls on sticks, or are there some big ol' props that are going to be put in a museum someday? I'm not saying I want to see a Hippogriff up close, but I'm not not saying that either.

  5. Will there be Dumbledore? Does this confirm RONBLEDORE???
    Warner Bros.

Listen, I know J.K. Rowling technically (uh, very specifically) said recently that our very favorite "Harry Potter" theory, that Dumbledore is just a wacky, time-traveling Ron Weasley, is not true, but still. There aren't THAT many redheads out there. If there's a glimpse of Dumbledore in this movie and the actor looks even a smidge like Rupert Grint, I'll be lighting the Ronbledore torch and keeping it burning through the ages.

  6. What will the Grindelwald-era magical world look like?

The early 1900s setting of the trilogy would seem to imply that this is the era when Grindelwald was terrorizing Europe. Will we see any traces of the fallen Dark wizard?

  7. Is there a big bad for the trilogy?
    WB

Speaking of which, is there an overarching villain throughout the three movies? Is it Grindelwald? Is it a not-so-fantastic beast? What's up?

  8. What will these be called, anyway?

Is "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" the franchise name? Will the title of the next one be "Fantastic Beasts 2," or more like "Fantastic Beasts: This One Has Claws?"

  9. Will there be any Peverells?

It would be cool if one of the oldest wizarding noble families showed up, is all we're saying.

  10. Will there be any Hallows?

A peek at the Invisibility Cloak or Elder Wand wouldn't get booed either.

  11. Will there be any familiar Potter characters?

Aside from Ronbledore, maybe we'll get a peek at some more Potterverse pals. Nicholas Flamel was thriving in those days, as were Harry's grandparents, Weasley ancestors, Malfoys and more. We'd love to meet them.

  12. Where DOES he find them?

Yo, where DO you find Fantastic Beasts, anyway?

  13. Will there be Quidditch? Is there a 1920s version?
    Warner Bros.

Not to blow up the spot for "Quidditch Through the Ages," but what did Quidditch look like back in the day, and will we see it?

  14. Is Ron Perlman some kind of jumbo goblin?

Just saying, the guy is 6'1". That's a mighty big goblin, if the rumors are true.

  15. How does trans-oceanic magical travel work? Do Portkeys have a distance limit?

How's this guy going to get to America? Do you have to fly or go by train if it's over a certain distance? If you can just Apparate everywhere, how are wizards ever, ever late for appointments?

  16. Will we get to see the American Hogwarts? What are their houses?

We know from "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" that there's at least a Witches Institute in Salem, but is there an American Hogwarts equivalent? Where is it? Can I go there?

  17. Can we see it yet?

IS IT TIME IS IT TIME IS IT TIME HOW ABOUT NOW IS IT TIME CAN WE SEE IT NOW

"Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them" hits theaters November 18, 2016.
