The 'Power Rangers' Movie Found Its Pink Ranger -- And She's A Former Disney Star

Meet your new Pink Ranger, Naomi Scott.

Meet your new Pink Ranger!

Naomi Scott has been cast as the ~iconic~ Pink Ranger in the upcoming "Power Rangers" movie, set for release in 2017.

The Lionsgate film made the announcement on Instagram, writing, "It’s official! #NaomiScott will play the #PinkRanger in the @PowerRangersMovie! Coming in 2017..." Oh. My. God. Do you know what this means?! It means we're one step closer to actually seeing a new "Power Rangers" movie come to life on the big screen!

Screenwriters Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller ("X-Men: First Class") wrote the screenplay for "Power Rangers," which will follow a group of ordinary high school kids find themselves infused with extraterrestrial powers and must harness those powers as a team to save the world.

And if Scott looks familiar to you, you probably recognize her from the Disney Channel's most underrated DCOM, "Lemonade Mouth." That's right: this Pink Ranger can dance and since... but does she know gymnastics?

It's been rumored that the film will go back to the franchise's roots, which will make fans of the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" very happy. If so, Scott will be playing Kimberly, which honestly makes our fangirl hearts SOAR... like a pterodactyl, obviously.
