Listen to Grouplove's new song, "Let Me In."
Considering the source material that "The Fault In Our Stars" is based on, the producers of the adaptation's soundtrack had their work cut out for them. I mean, you can't just throw in a couple of infectious bangers and expect to match the film's poignant tone.
Still, Grouplove prove up to the task on "Let Me In," an uplifting original song written for the motion picture's soundtrack, which also includes contributions from Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX, Lykke Li, and more.
"Let me in, let me closer, got my hands tight like I ride a roller coaster," they sing in the gently unfolding, piano-driven track, which manages to ride the same line between barely controlled chaos and tuneful execution as past hits like "Tongue Tied" and "Ways To Go."
The film, based on John Greene's best-selling 2012 novel of the same name, follows two teenagers who fall in love against some pretty sobering odds: they meet while at a support group for young people with cancer.
"And I'm finding out that all I know is right at home," the song assures us. It's about finding love where you least expect it, but also knowing just when the right moment is to let it come in.
