10 Most Insane #TBT Moments From Destiny’s Child’s 2005 WMA Tribute

Let us remember all the Destiny’s Child-related feels this tribute gave us.

Before Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams were dominating the charts as solo artists — not to mention Time’s Most Influential People list — you may recall that they were part of a well-known girl group called Destiny’s Child. Sound familiar? Well, it better, because otherwise THERE’S THE DOOR.

At the 2005 World Music Awards, our children of destiny were honored for their bazillions of contributions to the music industry. Actually, “honored” is kind of an understatement, considering the fact that the trio got front-row seats to a 17-minute tribute to THEM by Patti LaBelle, then-newbie Rihanna, Usher, and more.

In the spirit Throwback Thursday, we decided to compile all of the most IN-SANE moments from the celebration. Somehow, we managed to whittle our list down to 10.

1.) The fact that Solange was once mostly known as “Beyoncé’s little sister.”

2.) Tiny bb Rihanna covering “Lose My Breath” with Amerie and Teairra Marí.

3.) The fact that the announcer called her “Ree-Anna.”

4.) The ubiquitous presence of low-rise everything.

5.) Michelle weeping RIVERS at the sight of Patti LaBelle.

6.) The fact that Ms. LaBelle sang a song by The Pretenders. #Shade

7.) The girls comforting each other like true BFFs.

8.) Usher’s sensual duet with Babyface.

9.) Tina Knowles’ “I dressed those girls in House of Deréon so right tonight” tears of pride.

10.) DC’s ***flawless smiles throughout the whole show. Winners then! Winners forever!
