Buzz Bites: Lil Wayne Is Serious -- 'Tha Carter V' Will Be His Final Solo Album

Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter V" will be his last solo album.

Weezy insists that he's done with making solo discs.

+ Lil Wayne told MTV that he's not joking about Tha Carter V being his last solo LP. "I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes and it's definitely the final Carter album. It's the final Carter album. It's stopping at five," he said. The album is slated for a May 5 release. (MTV News)

+ A fatal accident occurred at SXSW in Austin last night. Police reported that a car drove through a barricade and struck a crowd of concertgoers, killing two. 23 people were injured and transported to area hospitals; five were in critical condition. (MTV News)

+ Lady Gaga's mother, Cynthia Germanotta, is defending the Born This Way Foundation after a report detailed that it only spends $5K on "grants to organizations or individuals." "We are an organization that conducts our charitable activity directly, and we fund our own work," Mrs. Germanotta, who is also the co-founder of the organization, wrote. "We are not a grant-maker that funds the work of other charities, and were never intended to be." (MTV News)
