Miley Cyrus has done it again. In a new video uploaded to Instagram by BFF/personal assistant Cheyne Thomas, the "Adore You" singer has once more demonstrated her deftly honed ability to leap past the pop-cultural B.S. and capture the Zeitgeist by its jugular.
For, when you reflect on the biggest questions facing us today -- how far has the American economy come since the economic downturn of 2008? What kind of long-lasting effects will a Russian invasion of Ukraine have on international diplomacy? -- one stands tall above the rest:
"ARE THOSE JEGGINGS?!"
Sure, the clip might appear to simply capture Ms. Miley inquiring as to the denim-to-spandex ratio of a friend's trousers. But upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that she's asking us -- SOCIETY! -- to turn the mirror upon ourselves and wonder: Are those jeggings? Are we jeggings? Are jeggings we? Can you ever just be whelmed?
Oops, we might've just gotten a little carried away there. Regardless of the video's context, we think that it might be our new favorite mantra loop. Cher saying "Wagon Wheel Watusi" from "Burlesque" for 10 minutes straight? You've been replaced.
