The Griswolds show off some twisted imagination in their "The Courtship Of Summer Preasley" video.
It can't be easy keeping up with the music video bonkers-level pace set by Lana Del Rey this year, but Australia's The Griswolds make a solid go at it in their video for "The Courtship Of Summer Preasley." Aside from some sexy goofing off, the video features a cameo from none other than Mana Del Rey, a slightly more masculine version of the idealistically feminine star, in a bit of gender-bending irony we suspect she might enjoy.

Things get off to a surreal start in the Jefferton James-directed clip, which features a double popsicle, uh, make-out session, an inner-ear birthday candle being used to light some "magic cigarettes," burkha-clad, wolf-headed dancers, an open mouth being used as a cereal bowl, a puppet love scene, and leg-shaving by a river with a hatchet. Aka a normal Friday afternoon for us at the office.
For having such twisted imaginations, the band -- whose previous single, "Heart Of A Lion," became a hit on alternative radio in their native Australia -- ply a deceptively upbeat and tropical indie bounce in the vein of Vampire Weekend. They're set to enter the studio with Tony Hoffer (M83, Phoenix) to record their debut album, due out later this year on Wind-up Records, and, if you want to see the madness in person, they're in New York City on Sunday night for a show at the Brooklyn Bowl. (Just don't ask them for any shaving tips.)
