Pretty sure Britney speaks for all of us.
Ummm, so you've all entered MTV's contest for a chance to win front-row tickets to Britney Spears' "Piece Of Me" Last Vegas residency, right? (If not, WE'RE IN A FIGHT.) Well, don't worry about coming down from that Britney high just yet, because there's now an official "Perfume" lyric video for you to glom on to.
Watch Britney Spears' "Perfume" lyric video after the jump.
The second single off of Britney Jean speaks to a paranoid internal struggle. It describes a situation where Britney Spears is unsure whether her man is cheating on her but decides to literally mark her territory (i.e., her guy friend's things) with her fragrances just in case. Given all that, it only makes sense that the lyric video for "Perfume" is shot from first-person perspective, letting us step inside Brit's head as she spritzes everything from a matchbook to a handwritten note with her signature scent.
Interspersed are a bunch of computer-generated pink bursts of liquid light plus a giant levitating perfume bottle that appears and disappears at random. This all makes sense because... um... the song is called perfume. *stares unblinkingly at you until you concede*
Anyway, we can't help but wonder if this is a peek inside Brit-Brit's procès de parfumerie. Like, when she needs to concoct the next "Fantasy" or "Curious," she simply locks herself in a hotel room with a bunch of props and fragrant ingredients. Or, maybe she just hires experts to assist her. GUESS WE'LL NEVER KNOW!
