Panic! At The Disco give new meaning to the term “stripped-down and vulnerable” in their “Girls/Girls/Boys” video.
Point me in the direction of the cold showers, because I am shvitzing up a storm after watching Panic! At The Disco’s naked new video for “Girls/Girls/Boys.” HOW naked is naked, you ask? Well, light the romantic candles, break out some wine, sprawl out on a bear skin rug next to a roaring fire, and picture D’Angelo’s legendary “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” video. Because that ALMOST covers the level of naked we’re referring to, and then some. Hope you like protruding hot-dude hipbones!
Hell yeah, you do.
Watch Panic! At The Disco’s “Girls/Girls/Boys” video after the jump.
Appearing on Panic!’s just-released album, Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die!, “Girls/Girls/Boys” looks and feels almost identical to D’Angelo’s classic minimalist clip. Lead singer and willing nudist (THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!) Brendon Urie kicks things off with a Miley Cyrus-in-“Wrecking Ball” close-up (seriously, is EVERY musician gonna get naked in their videos from now on?), which quickly evolves into a full shot of his very naked, ripped torso. (I mean, it’s no D’Angelo as a hot, perspiring, muscles-for-days sex god, but still, WE LIKEY.)
Describing the video’s very real homage to D’Angelo’s “Untitled,” Urie unveiled (heh) the inspiration behind “Girls/Girls/Boys” to Alternative Press: “’Girls/Girls/Boys’ is such a racy song that it immediately made me think of one of the sexiest videos of all time, which also happens to be one of my favorites. Doing an homage to D’Angelo’s classic ’Untitled (How Does It Feel)’ video seemed like a perfect fit.”
Well, we say CORRECT, YES, AND BRAVO, because Urie certainly does look all kinds of “fit.” The only thing we’re missing? Urie could do with a few more well-placed beads of sweat. But the good news is, we DO get to see a hint of Brendon’s butt. HELL-O.
Let’s do a few more side-by-side comparisons, shall we? Also known as a little game of #FunWithPhotoshop!
Don’t you “come-hither expression” me!
