Star Spotting: Selena Gomez Is Obviously Cute Enough To Get Away With A Canadian Tuxedo

Selena Gomez rocks all denim in L.A.

OF COURSE Selena Gomez can get away with all-denim-everything.

Let's go over the history of the Canadian tuxedo, shall we? (Aka that sartorial phenomenon where you wear denim on top AND bottom.) Before Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's 2001 American Music Awards denim-on-denim travesty, we had the pop culture characters who started it all: Chuck Norris, Harrison Ford, and, well, every lumberjack ever. (Except for maybe the ones that prefer flannel, I guess.)

Moral of the story? It takes a strong, IDGAF personality to truly get away with a denim top and bottom. Not many people are qualified! None, of course, except Selena Gomez, who, in addition to being allowed to make all the duck faces she wants, is also proudly rocking a full-fledged Canadian tuxedo onesie. And she looks so cute, that she's somehow managed to avoid every "Walker, Texas Ranger" snark from us! #NextToImpossible

Snapped rocking all-denim-everything in L.A., the "Slow Down" singer proved that you CAN wear top-to-bottom jean material without looking like a.) an 8-year-old, b.) Martha Stewart circa 1985, or c.) a member of "The Dukes Of Hazzard." (And when I say "you" I mean "only Selena." Not the royal "you.")

But wait, what's that you say? Canadian tuxedos are back?? Wait, how were we supposed to know that?? It's not like we're MTV Style! We can't keep track of these things! Next thing you know, you'll be telling us it's OK to wear brown and black together. Oh, wait. It is? *Drew Barrymore in "Scream"* AHHHHH!
