This week has definitely proved Lorde's royal pedigree.
Obvious alert: We're obsessed with Ella Yelich-O'Connor, the 16-year-old musical prodigy from New Zealand better known as Lorde, whose recently released debut, Pure Heroine, has already helped us ignore approximately 17 subway weirdos since its release last Friday.
And apparently we're not the only Lorde-obsessives out there: "Royals" recently jumped all the way to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. What a week! Let's give her a round of applause. And a one, and a two, and a...
Anyway, just as Christina Aguilera many moons ago foretold, things just kept getting better for all the Lorde Stans. Earlier today, Lorde performed her smash hit song on VH1's "Big Morning Buzz Live." And all those slithering, "The Craft"-channeling moves that she displayed on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon"? They're back and witchier than ever.
Watch Lorde perform "Royals" on VH1's "Big Morning Buzz Live" and react to reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 after the jump.
To review, Lorde has already managed to both release a critically acclaimed debut album, garner blockbuster commercial success with one of its singles, and deliver a serious impressive live performance all in one week.
But wait, there's more!
Order now, and you'll receive a second Cat's Meow absolutely free! VH1 has announced that the "Tennis Court" singer will join Ed Sheeran, HAIM, Emeli Sande, and more in performing at the channel's first-ever "You Oughtta Know In Concert," which will broadcast on Nov. 21 at 9 p.m. ET.
And if that's not enough to make you crumble to your Lorde-worshipping knees, check out this a cappella cover of "Royals" by Pentatonix, the season three winners of "The Sing-Off." The fivesome's silky rendering of the sultry call-out jam is so effing seductive that I think it may have just got me pregnant. Literally, call me Tweet, 'cause "Oops" there goes my shirt up over my head. Oh my!
