Naya Rivera and Demi Lovato cover The Beatles' classic "Here Comes The Sun."
I fully woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning (warning: do NOT watch "House Hunters: International" reruns past 2 a.m.). Seriously, I thought the only thing that could pull me out of my funk was a free delivery of a brand-new Chanel handbag and/or John Mayer stopping by my apartment and proposing marriage.
But then, just when I thought all was lost, a light shone down from the pop music heavens in the form of Naya Rivera and Demi Lovato's bright, sparkling, harmony-laden version of The Beatles' 1969 classic "Here Comes The Sun"! It was as if John Mayer stopped by my apartment after all with a delivery of six jumbo, black, quilted Chanel bags! (Or whatever the equivalent of "that awesome" is.)
Listen to Naya Rivera and Demi Lovato cover "Here Comes The Sun" after the jump.
Recorded for part two of "Glee"'s upcoming Beatles tribute (airing Oct. 3), "Here Comes The Sun" will be featured in an episode where Demi plays Naya's new love interest, Dani. And lemme just tell you, if the girls' onscreen chemistry is anywhere near as good as their studio chemistry, then we're pretty sure Naya's BF Big Sean is gonna get mad jealz. Or want in on the action?! (#Inappropriate)
Rooted by a sparse and simple acoustic guitar melody, "Here Comes The Sun" features the "Made In The USA" and the "Sorry" singers exchanging verses, harmonies, and (presumably) loving glances. In sum, Naya and Demi deliver a totally worthy, respectful, and true-to-the-original rendition. That said, don't think we didn't hear that sweet and simple run Demi just had to throw in at the top of the track. We hear you, bb, and we like it.
