Neon Hitch straight-up slayed her "We Can't Stop" cover.
Now that Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" has dropped -- you know, that video where Miley and director Terry Richardson plopped a naked Miley on a moving wrecking ball while she smashed s*** up -- we thought that the singer's first single, "We Can't Stop," had basically seen its day in the sun. But, thanks to Neon Hitch's totally reinterpreted, kinda-reggae-kinda-jazz-kinda ska-definitely-awesome cover, we're happy to say that the summer smash isn't going anywhere yet.
Watch Neon Hitch's "We Can't Stop" cover video after the jump.
At the top of the Bryan Yokomi-directed clip, we see the short shorts-rocking, floral head wrap-wearing Neon smile and greet her band members as they all congregate at a bar. After some hugs and dranks (best combo ever, BTW), the "Love U Betta" singer and her crew perch on an oceanside porch where she delivers her slowed-down, ska-infused rendition of Miley's pop banger.
Produced by Kinetics & One Love, Neon's interpretation of Miley's sparkling pop tune is anchored by a sultry trumpet melody. Although she mostly sticks to the original lyrics, in a genius move, Neon does swap out Miley's signature "dancing with Molly" line for "dancing with gypsies" -- because remember how Neon is actually an IRL gypsy that grew up on a bus in the U.K.? THAT'S SO AWESOME.
So, we suggest you grab a bottle of your fave Merlot, dim the lights, spark up some incense, and you crank Neon's jazzy, sexy "We Can't Stop" cover. Extra points if there's a cute bro on the couch who will be the "big spoon" while you listen!
