Lady Gaga Will Perform Her First 'ARTPOP' Single LIVE At The 2013 MTV VMAs! Let's Celebrate With Mother Monster's 8 Best VMA Moments! (PHOTOS)

Lady Gaga will debut her first single off of ARTPOP in a live performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards!

It's official! Lady Gaga will perform LIVE at the 2013 VMAs on Aug. 25.

YES! YES! A thousand times YES! Clear your schedule the night of Aug. 25, because you will hereby be GAGGING on Lady Gaga's live performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Still breathing? No? WELL, TOO BAD, LUNGS, because in addition to this being Mother Monster's first VMA appearance in two years, it will also be the very first live performance of the lead single (title still TBA, but Gaga announced an Aug. 19 release on Facebook) off of her upcoming third full studio album, ARTPOP. Well, I've got one thing to say: This is truly -- OH MY GOD I CAN'T BREATHE.

Aaaaaand we're back. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but this answer to our prayers just raises so many more questions! Will Gaga perform the album's rumored first single, "Applause" -- WHICH MAY NOT EVEN BE CALLED "APPLAUSE"?!?!? Will her newly pierced septum make a cameo? Will her ARTPOP performance just consist of staring at her newly sculpted wax figure while that "Mirror, father, mirror..." refrain from "Ghost World" plays?!?! Whatever it is, we can't WAIT because OBVIOUSLY the Lady is gonna go all out to make sure she tops her VMA past. And we think you'll see that that's, like, damn near impossible in the photo retrospective we've assembled below, but if there's one woman to do it...

Lady Gaga puts her paw up for the VMAs.'s Lady Gaga. Now, let's celebrate with a look back at Gaga's most iconic VMA moments!

Lady Gaga channels the Phantom of the Opera on the red carpet of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

1.) That time Lady Gaga channeled the Phantom of the Opera on the red carpet: The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards marked Lady Gaga's first appearance at the iconic award show. Obviously, being Fame-era Gaga, she was not only going to relish the moment, but she was going to use it as an opportunity to freak people out. #MissionAccomplished.

2.) That time Lady Gaga bled for her art: OK, so maybe it was fake blood (key word: maybe), but Lady Gaga's 2009 performance of "Paparazzi" and its super-meta comment on the price of pop royalty fame truly was a jolt to the Top 40 system.

3.) That time Lady Gaga won the Best New Artist Moonman: Though this win was specifically for her "Poker Face" video, Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" clip also earned two other 2009 VMAs for Best Art Direction and Best Special Effects. But her crowning achievement (no pun intended, we swear) of the night? Freaking out Eminem, a man who's not easily rattled and, as any avid Y2K-era TRL watcher can attest to, has never been one to pull his pop star punches.

4.) That time Lady Gaga asked AND told: While literally looking like a work of art in a gold, feathered mohawk and painting-patterned gown, Lady Gaga arrived on the 2010 VMA white carpet arm-in-arm with some seriously foine dates: LGBT former armed-services members. Remember: At the time, Mother Monster was furiously campaigning to repeal the military's ban on soldiers publicly disclosing their sexuality.

Lady Gaga debuts the chorus of "Born This Way" while accepting the award for Video of the Year from Cher at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

5.) That time Lady Gaga won Video of the Year: SHNAP OUT OF IT! Not only did Cher (!) present the night's top honor wearing the same outfit she wore in her iconic "If I Could Turn Back Time" music video (!!!!), but Gaga accepted her Moonman wearing none other than her now notorious meat dress. In addition to channeling PETA's worst nightmare, the singer channeled her inner Jenna Maroney and debuted a snippet of "Born This Way" a cappella.

Lady Gaga opens the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards with a live performance of "You and I" as her alter-ego Jo Calderone.

6.) That time Lady Gaga was a guy named Jo: Opening the 2011 VMAs as her alter ego Jo Calderone, Gaga ranted on about her on-again/off-again relationship with herself/himself before launching into an epic live performance of "Yoü and I" featuring Queen's Brian May on guitar.

Lady Gaga, in character as Jo Calderone, tries to make a move on Britney Spears at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

7.) That time Lady Gaga tried to pull a Madonna on Britney: Although Ms. Britney Spears wasn't feeling Gaga-as-Jo's attempt to re-create the pop star's famous 2003 VMA kiss with Madonna -- Spears' response: "I've done that already!" -- you've gotta give it up!

8.) That time Lady Gaga (sort of) announced her 2013 VMA ARTPOP performance... AND NONE OF US PICKED UP ON IT: Though absent from the 2012 VMAs, Lady Gaga still live-tweeted the event from wherever she was. MTV tweeted a shout-out, and, after an abrasive (though, DUH, good-humored) response, the singer hinted that she'd be back for 2013's big show with a comeback that would rival even Britney's '08 renaissance moment. AHHHH!!!! The clues were there the whole time! WE. CAN'T. WAIT.
