Melanie Fiona and B.o.B get down in their "Change The Record" video.
We think it's pretty safe to say that Melanie Fiona is one of the most underrated vocalists out there (aka she can WAIL). If you don't believe us, just listen to any 10 seconds of her brand-new, B.o.B-assisted jam, "Change The Record." Oh, and there's a video, too, which means you can watch her in action as many times as you want! Every day. (But in a totally non-creepy way, of course.)
Watch Melanie Fiona's "Change The Record" video featuring B.o.B after the jump.
One of our favorite tracks off Melanie's current album, The MF Life, "Change The Record" is a song dedicated to all those douchey dudes out there who cheat on their ladies (NO SCRUBS). But straight up yelling at said douchey dudes would be way too
fun obvious, right? Instead of throwing an ish fit, Melanie compares awful men to awful DJs (thus the title "Change the Record"), which is just a metaphor for "Stop being a total DB!" Or, more eloquently: "Cause you don't care right here/ And you don't care whose there/ And you don't care/ Well here's the song I hear/ You can do better / Do better/ If you don’t like how he's playing then change the record."
In the video, Mel and B.o.B hit up da club, take turns dancing with each other (they're kinda cute...HINT), and enjoy solo groove sessions in front of stacks of giant speakers. Eventually, Melanie gets behind the turntables and, wait for it, changes the record! Way to take control of your actual (and musical!) destiny, lady. Werque.
