Walk The Moon totally slayed it at the mtvU Woodies Awards Festival.
Saying you need to pay more attention to Cincinnati indie rockers Walk The Moon is a drastic understatement -- not only did the guys score a coveted spot on MTV's 2012 Artists To Watch list (there were only 11!), but they're also set to play Bonnaroo and tour with Young The Giant this year. (#swag) And the dudes did not disappoint during their performances of "Anna Sun" and "Next In Line" at the mtvU Woodies Awards Festival yesterday in Austin, Texas.
Covered in sweat and face and body paint, the little quartet that could actually got the crowd jumping up and down! Given that most of them were probably showcase hopping for much of the day (and maybe not entirely sober), that's quite the accomplishment. WTM's live performance picked up where their video for "Anna Sun" left off -- a synth-poppy dance party that everyone wants to join. Also, let us take a moment to appreciate lead singer Nicholas Petricca's infectious smile... OK, welcome back. The dudes brought it down just a notch for their "Next In Line" performance, but they still made time for a few little dance moves, as evidenced in this, my new favorite GIF.
