Watch Adam Lambert's 'Better Than I Know Myself' video.
What's better than a new Adam Lambert single? Why, a new Adam Lambert video, of course, so we not only hear his ridiculously powerful vocals, but gaze at his gorgeous, glammed-out visage! Adam's just dropped the new Ray Kay-directed clip for his latest single, "Better Than I Know Myself," off his upcoming sophomore studio album Trespassing, and Glamberts have nothing to fear: The video is pretty much cramazing.
"Better Than I Know Myself" is a moody midtempo about a complicated romance, and the video perfectly captures the essence of that conflict, showing two separate Adams in two separate rooms: one dark and edgy, featuring Adam in a deliciously villainous leather trench and heavy eye makeup, all shot in cool, blue-black hues; and then a blissfully meditative Adam wearing a grandpa sweater, saturated with honey-brown earth tones. Dark-and-gloomy Adam is guzzling booze, throwing furniture, and staring at the camera with an expression of total spiritual depletion (he's like one of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey"!), while light-and-angelic Adam is making a nice pot of tea, writing in his journal and probably meditating on how lucky he is to be super-talented and hot and famous. (Just a guess, guys.) By the end of the video, all of the oxygen is disappearing out of the room (hate it when that happens!), and in the final shot, it appears that his dual personae have merged. Dr. Jekyll + Mr. Hyde = One whole Adam Lambert.

The cinematography is lush and vibrant, nicely capturing the juxtaposition between the light and dark sides of Adam's personality -- and that's exactly what Adam's said Trespassing is all about, so the video serves as an ideal introduction for what fans should expect on the album. Most important, though, it gives us an opportunity to ogle at his ridiculously covetable style. Dramatic leather trench with angular lapels? Yes, please. Or at the very least, can we borrow that grandpa sweater? Once we cool down from watching this video, that is.
