R&B diva Mary J. Blige has assembled quite the arsenal of stars to appear on her forthcoming My Life II… The Journey Continues (Act I) disc out Nov 21. Mary's called upon the likes of Rick Ross, Nas, Beyoncé, Busta Rhymes and Drake to appear with her on her 10th studio album.
Mary's collabo with Drake is "Mr. Wrong," and it speaks to all the crap that comes along with always falling for a huge DB. In this case, Mary's fallen for Drake who uses his verse to fully admit that he's not the most stand-up guy: "I don't get it/Now I hate to think I tricked them/They fall victim to my system/Guess I sure know how to pick 'em/And I'm always her regret." Mary's booming R&B vocals come up next, and she sings of a dilemma that's been plaguing women for centuries: "Bad boys ain't no good/Good boys ain't no fun/Lord knows that I should/Run off with the right one/Me and Mr. Wrong get along so good/Even though it breaks my heart so bad." Guuurl, I totally feel you. Why do I always have to have a crush on the badass tattooed guy at the bar with no job? (Needless to say, my Jewish parents are less than pleased.)
Co-produced by Rico Love and Jim Jonsin, Rico recently admitted to RapUp.com, "It's an extremely soulful song that expresses the true level of love that a woman can have for a man who simply is no good for her. I wrote it because in many ways I am Mr. Wrong." Well, at least Rico can turn that part of himself into a super dope record, right? Every "Mr. Wrong" has a silver lining!
