Tallahassee, Florida natives and pop-punk stalwarts Mayday Parade are set to release their self-titled third album on Oct. 4, and today, Buzzworthy’s got the premiere of their new single, “When You See My Friends.” Taking a cue from their last single “Oh Well, Oh Well,” “When You See My Friends” reminds us once again that breaking up can really suck sometimes. OK, all the time.
“When You See My Friends” is a swelling mid-tempo ballad set to bursting drums and heavy guitars interspersed with a few acoustic plucks, over which a seemingly heartbroken Derek Sanders sings of a love gone sour. “When you see my friends, tell ’em ’Hi’ for me/And tell ’em what you think about the way you handled everything.” Ouch. Also, does anyone have a coming-of-age relationship montage they need scored? ’Cause I think these guys can help. Also, who keeps breaking up with Mayday Parade? I think I know about a billion ladies who can help you out.
“When You See My Friends” is the second single off of Mayday Parade’s eponymous Mayday Parade album, coproduced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount, set for release on Oct. 4.
