Red Hot Chili Peppers channel The Beatles in the premiere of their highly anticipated "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" video, paying homage to the Fab 4's iconic rooftop performance of "Get Back" with a spontaneous public show of their own.
Directed by Marc Klasfeld (Rise Against, Avenged Sevenfold, Foo Fighters), "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" was shot in Venice Beach late last month and features the band jumping and bounding around a roof as curious onlookers gather. Shot on 16mm film for a more cinematic feel, the video intersperses intimate shots of the band with wide views of the surrounding beach, mirroring the song's sunny, bouncy feel.
"Maggie" marks the official return of the band after a self-imposed two-year hiatus. I'm With You, the Chilis' tenth album, is out August 30 and is the first with new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who joined the band in 2010 following the departure of on-and-off guitarist John Frusciante.
