I've interviewed a generous roster of artists over the years here at Camp Buzzworthy. Some have shown me their tats (Mike from Every Avenue, what UP?) Courtney Love accused me of throwing shade at her. (For the record, if a record for that sort of thing even exists, I was not.) But never have I had an artist sit through an entire interview with his eyes closed, only to reveal that one of his favorite things to do is eat Wheat Thins and watch "Law & Order: SVU" in the dark. That is until I met Wallpaper's Ricky Reed.
Basically, Ricky Reed -- he's a producer, musician, remix master, born hustler and solo artist -- makes party jams for the thinking man. His breakout single, "#STUPiDFACEDD" -- it's the titular track on his #STUPiDFACEDD EP, which is out today -- not only comes with two Ds (three, actually), but it even has its own hashtag. Like swag, ##STUPiDFACEDD is a way of being. It's not good; it's not bad. To determine whether something is #STUPiDFACEDD or not, you really just need to apply the maxim that Justice Potter Stewart, in the landmark Supreme Court case Jacobellis v. Ohio (1964) used to determine pornography: You know it when you see it.
If you haven't seen Wallpaper's "#STUPiDFACEDD" video, watch it below, and then see what Ricky Reed had to say about what is and what is not Stupidfacedd -- and, more important, who is and who is not #STUPiDFACEDD, including Miley Cyrus, tribal tattoos, Ke$ha, veganism, Will Smith and more. Learnt it!
