Let's put it this way: If there were a coffee table book chock full of images of Beyoncé posing in various and sundry period-inspired costumes with the appropriate corresponding makeup, we'd totally purchase it. She caused a liquid liner/red lip/robin's egg blue nail polish FRENZY when her "Why Don't You Love Me" video came out last year, and now, she's returned to an era in the same vicinity with her recent Grace Kelly-inspired photo spread in Vogue Italia.
The black and white elegance of it all, the dreamy Old Hollywood homage... Beyoncé is just EXUDING glamour from every single PORE in these photos. She was MADE for retro revival. One has to wonder if she didn't TIME TRAVEL to this era in a DeLorean using 1.21 gigawatts of SEXY. Even in 2011, we'd wager that any red-blooded hetero dude would want to get "handsy" with Beyoncé in THIS getup. And possibly even be inspired to bring back the word "handsy" from its Webster's dictionary grave for the occasion.
Photographer Francesco Carrozzini shot the starlet/singer for the Italian mag. The decadently '50s decade-y wardrobe comes courtesy of the magazine's contributing fashion editor, Rushka Bergman (who once served as personal stylist to Michael Jackson). You know, no big.
What do you think of Bey's '50s fabulosity? Are you loving it or WHAT?
