I can't tell you how rad it was to see all the members of D.R.U.G.S. (aka Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows). The last time I ran into them, they were all playing in other bands (i.e. Story Of The Year, From First To Last Chiodos and Matchbook Romance) and were probably covered in some kind of tour grime from being on the road 250 days a year. Truth be told, when the "Sex Life" singers showed up to MTV studios, they looked a little more grown-up, but a hell of a lot cleaner. Ah, what a difference a couple years make.
Despite guitarist Matt Good having the sniffles, the post-screamo band was totally upbeat and eager to talk all about their self-titled debut album and the kind of life events that inspired the songs on it. I also asked each of them about the most embarrassing song on his iPod -- the winner was Ke$ha, but guitarist Nick Martin wasn't the least big ashamed -- and which app is distracting them these days. (Hint: It involves stars flying out of a bird's butt. What? You haven't heard of "Tiny Wings"?)
+ Watch Buzzworthy's D.R.U.G.S. interview below, and be sure to catch them on Warped Tour this summer.
