We've got nothing but love for Demi Lovato here at Buzzworthy, as the singer is proving herself to be quite the brave young lady. Demi recently joined forces with Seventeen magazine for the "Love Is Louder" campaign, which is aimed at helping young girls deal with the pressure to be perfect. And in her first interview after her stint in a rehab facility, the "Remember December" singer has not only revealed intimate details about her struggles with bullying, an eating disorder and self-mutilation, but she's also opening up about her bipolar diagnosis.
"I had no idea that I was even bipolar until I went into treatment," Demi told ABC's Robin Roberts in her upcoming "20/20" interview. "I was actually manic a lot of the times that I would take on workloads... I was conquering the world, but then I would come crashing down, and I would be more depressed than ever."
It's hard to remember that so many of the young stars we see in the media are just that -- young stars. Some teenagers in the spotlight oftentimes have heavier workloads than people twice their age, and Demi Lovato was no exception. Given that she has so many young fans, we can't praise her enough for being so honest about her issues, and we think she's a fantastic role model. We heart you, Demi!
