Video Premiere: The Get Up Kids, 'Shatter Your Lungs'

At pastry school, students need to learn the essentials: how to insert the filling in a cream puff, how to avoid burning your pie crust and -- if you believe the story that The Get Up Kids are telling in their "Shatter Your Lungs" video -- when to look out for a hungry, kleptomaniac fox-boy whose sole purpose is to make your life effing misery.

The concept couldn't be simpler: Two chefs -- who could double as Super Mario Bros. stunt doubles -- turn their backs for a second, only to find their treasured pastries hijacked by a thieving fox. Why I oughta!!! A chase ensues, and the fox, not content to just be a pie thief, ups the ante by stealing some dude's soda and throwing it at the chefs. Really, man? Because now you're just being a jerk.

We love the video, but wish the band included more reaction shots of people watching the urban fox hunt. Turns out our hirsute friend actually has a problem worthy of A&E's "Intervention," but we won't spoil it beyond that.

"Shatter Your Lungs" is the second single off the group's fifth album, There Are Rules, the band's first album since 2004's Guilt Show. The group broke up in 2005 after 10 years together, only to reunite in 2008 and live happily ever after.
