Indie Music Month Video Premiere: Kids of 88, 'Sugarpills'

As part of MTV's Indie Music Month, we're premiering videos from some of the most exciting artists in the indie music scene. Today, New Zealand New Wave duo Kids of 88 go back in time in their new video "Sugarpills."

You might remember "My House," the pair's upbeat first single from last year's self-titled LP. The Kiwi kids haven't wasted any time recording new stuff, releasing the equally cleverly named Sugarpills EP this past February.

While you probably get a little '80s off of the group's New Wave pop, Jordan Arts and Sam McCarthy travel back to the 1960s in this new video. Trippy, kaleidoscopic patterns dominate the screen, while a group of eerie dancers -- they're wearing red spandex, and their heads are creepily covered in white... not alarming or anything! -- get all interpretive dance on us. Picture Daft Punk's "Around the World" and turn up the performance art dial, and you're pretty much there.
