There are two sides to every breakup. I'm not just talking about the he said/she said but also the variety of emotions that can run through a person after they've been dumped, done the dumping or just called the whole thing off.

Take the breakup of Katy Perry and Travie McCoy. Katy Perry's Teenage Dream album features a song called "Circle The Drain," which allegedly takes aim at her Gym Class Hero ex's affinity for pills, with lyrics like, "Wanna be your lover/ Not your f***ing mother." This prompted McCoy to respond, caustically, "I'm just stoked that she finally has a song with some substance on her record. Good job."

With the anger and regret packed into "Circle The Drain," this unreleased Katy Perry track, "Part Of Me," finds the resolution and the release.

"You took my light, you drained me down. But that was then and this is now," sings Perry over a classic, chiming, minor key Dr. Luke guitar line. When the chorus comes in, the weight is lifted, with Perry announcing, "This is the part of me that you're never gonna take away from me," over a cathartic house beat.

Which do you prefer? Angry Katy? Uplifting Katy? The great thing is you don't have to choose. "Part Of Me" may be released on an upcoming Teenage Dream re-issue later this year.
