I don't know about you guys, but Ke$ha is the last person I ever thought I'd see in an ad for the U.S. government. But it turns out Ke$ha is the latest poster girl for the "1 Amendment For All" campaign, which supports First Amendment freedoms and reminds the public that the First Amendment serves everyone, regardless of faith, race, gender or political leanings.
Ke$ha may seem as anti-establishment as they come, but the "We R Who We R" singer takes the First Amendment very seriously, which we love because it happens to be our favorite amendment (besides the 21st amendment, of course, which repealed prohibition--phew). To refresh your memory, the First Amendment is that little amendment to the Constitution that says all U.S. citizens have the right to freedom of speech. You know, that one? Kinda important.
Who better than Ke$ha to promote the cause? Since the start of her career, Ke$ha's marched to the beat of her own drummer, from spelling her name with a dollar sign to using whiskey as toothpaste to trying to make blue lipstick happen. And you know what, in America, you're allowed to do all of that, free of charge. USA! USA! Might we see more political action from Ke$ha? KE$HA FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012! Is the world ready for a president in red-white-and-blue hot pants? Let's hope.
+ Watch Ke$ha express her First Amendment right to be whoever she wants to be in her "We R Who We R" video.
