FASHION FLASHBACK: Vote For The VMA's Most Glamorous Star

Celebrities seem to have only a few style options when dressing for the VMAs. They either go for the hilariously trashtacular look, as was the case with Pamela Anderson at the 1999 VMAs. Or Lil' Kim at almost every VMA she's attended. Or they wear the most unsubtle getup possible, like Rose McGowan's dress, which was backless as well as butt-less at the 1998 VMAs. Or, if you're Pete Wentz, you wear a monkey.

But with the return of the VMAs to Los Angeles, we can expect a return to form with old-fashioned retro Hollywood glamour. It's a fashionable fallback and a style choice that looks good on any and every star. Sequined gowns, mermaid dresses, slim-fitting suits, pinstripes, picture-perfect makeup, hair just so, everything camera-ready. It's an awards show, people. Step it up and dress it up!

So in honor of what we HOPE will be a return to old-Hollywood glamour on the VMA red carpet, we've put together a photo gallery of the VMA's most glamorous stars. Check out some of our favorite glamorous stars at the VMAs and vote for the star you think looked the most glamorous.

And check out some VMA red carpet standouts, like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Christina Aguilera and more below.
