Yeah, it's cool that he's using a new delivery system (of sorts) for his music. And it's smart that he's circumventing bootleggers and leakers by bootlegging and leaking himself. But the real stroke of genius is the day he's choosing to release his stuff: Friday. It means Kanye West pretty much owns every weekend. And this weekend, on car stereos, computers and in clubs all over, nothing got more burn than "Monster," his new beastly posse cut with Nick Minaj, Jay-Z, Rick Ross and, yes, indie troubadour Bon Iver.
Over a hard-hitting, tumbling beat, Kanye spits about his presence being a present to us all. But before we can unwrap all that, Jay-Z comes through with what might be his strongest verse in years, listing off names of famous monsters throughout history (King Kong, Godzilla, Loch Ness, etc.). He leaves one off, though: Bride of Frankenstein. And that's where Nicki comes in, more than holding her own against the bad boys.
Check out the song below. Needless to say NSFW LANGUAGE all over the place on this one. But, man, is it worth it!
