First of all, we can't proceed without addressing the glory that is the above photo.
Yes, that's Destiny's Child, Nelly, Eve, Jessica Simpson, 3LW and Dream all gathered together in Albany, New York, of all places, on the 2001 MTV TRL Tour. If you were around during the heyday of late '90s, early '00s pop, then you probably miss and long for those days of hair-gelled boys and girls in braids dancing in unison in oversize jackets and baggy pants or bandanna tops and low-rise polyester pants to songs laced with harmonies and drum machines. Always drum machines.
Clearly New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys know what's up. They know there are still DIE-HARD boy band and girl group fans out there longing to make pop music's past their present (and even book a cabin on a New Kids' cruise ship). Which may be why New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys are rumored to be teaming up for a joint tour. Which got us thinking...If New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys could happen, which other '90s boy bands and poppy girl groups need to come out of retirement/hiding/solo project status seclusion? Let's take a look! (Don't care? Check out more than 500 photos from the TRL photo booth.)

1.) DREAM! They went double platinum, opened for Britney Spears, 'NSync, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees and Destiny's Child, and Holly Blake-Arnstein could SANG. "He Loves U Not" was the JAM. Ultimately, the Dream didn't last, and the girls broke up. But you can still enjoy half of Dream's music as Lady Phoenix.

2.) LFO: These guys had that huge, mildly embarrassing hit "Summer Girls," which probably got them a lot of free Abercrombie tees and at least some makeout sessions. They were so '90s the '90s were jealous of them. After announcing their reunion in June 2009, LFO broke up via YouTube that September! Stop toying with our emotions, LFO! And also, maybe it's best that these guys stay retired.

3.) LMNT: LMNT was a boy band unafraid to wear pink boas, whose members were selected by the readers of now-defunct Teen People magazine. LMNT, also long-since defunct, had that catchy song "Juliet" and originally had Glee's Matthew Morrison in the band too. None of the other band members were ever heard from again after 2002. Just kidding! (A little.)
4.) 3LW: Come on. You KNOW you loved "Playas Gon' Play." Don't even pretend for 1 second you don't still bump that 3LW joint.
+ More totally '90s pop groups that need to reunite after the jump!

5.) S Club 7! There were SO many of them! Seven! Seven members in S Club 7, to be exact. Some might find that to be a tad bit excessive, but if it took seven voices to create the sweet sweet sounds of "Never Had A Dream Come True," then that's how many people it took.

6.) Destiny's Child: EVERYTHING Destiny's Child put out was a gift. "Jumpin' Jumpin''? Are you kidding me? That song's box fresh. We will continue to hold our breath for a Destiny's Child reunion until...we can't hold our breath any longer. By the way, what ever happened to Beyoncé?
