We've seen Lady Gaga made of candy. And Lady Gaga made of trash. And now here's something you don't see every day: a mosaic of Lady Gaga made of bullets. OK, it's not bullets, but rather BB gun pellets, but it is exactly the kind of combination of high art and kitsch that seems right up Lady Gaga's alley.
Created by Floridian sculptor John O'Hearn, this piece now hangs with other illustrious modern masterpieces, such as Eminem made of M&M's and Taylor Swift made from pink and white Good & Plenty candy, in the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Odditorium in Florida.
If you need to know the method behind the madness, here it is: O'Hearn fills more than 300 little tubes with over 200 little BB pellets each to create this visual homage to Gaga, using more than 60,000 BBs in all. Edward Meyer, vice president of exhibits and archives for Ripley’s, calls the piece "a spectacular work of art," and frankly, who are we to disagree? We certainly wouldn't want to upset a man with access to that many BB pellets.
The Lady Gaga portrait will go on display at Ripley's Florida museum in the spring of 2011, so book your tickets now, little monsters.
