Hole is back and ready to attack, as heard on the band's new song "Skinny Little Bitch." Courtney Love & Co. are giving away the song for free today as an appetizer to the band's long-awaited album Nobody's Daughter, which comes out April 26.
Unlike the polished pop songs off Hole's last album Celebrity Skin, "Skinny Little Bitch" is a return to Love's grunge-drenched roots, complete with snarly vocals and chunky guitars (courtesy of axe man Micko Larkin).
I'm not sure who Love is singing about, but I'd be slightly scared if I were them — especially when she spits lines like, "You'd be oh so dumb to fuck with me, because you're much too young to end up with me." In that sense, it kind of reminds me of the May–December romance she sings about in "But Julian, I'm A Bit Older Than You," off her 2004 solo album America's Sweetheart, which referred to The Strokes' frontman Julian Casablancas. Cougar prey aside, if this is what fans can expect from Hole version 2.0, I think that I would die — but, like, in a good way.
