You gotta give Kristen Stewart this: she doesn't take the easy way out. First, she cannon-balled into the stardom pool by playing the heroine of the Twilight series, Bella Swan, which was no easy task given the proprietary feelings millions of Twilight readers had over the character.
Now, as if carrying the burden of countless Twilight fanatics wasn't enough, she's taken on the role of one of the more iconic female rockers of the last 30 years: Joan Jett.
Stewart stars as Jett in The Runaways, which happens to be the feature directorial debut for acclaimed music video auteur Floria Sigismondi (Marilyn Manson's "The Beautiful People") and also happens to co-star Dakota Fanning as Jett's Runaways bandmate, Cherie Currie.
So now it's time for a little compare and contrast. Check out the trailer for The Runaways (coming in March 2010) and then watch The Runaways (the band) perform their hit, "Cherry Bomb."
