New Interview: Meet MTV Fan Favorites Sparks The Rescue

Portland, Maine band Sparks The Rescue won MTV's I Want My Music On MTV competition with over 30,000 votes in favor of their infectious, kinetic brand of emo-pop, which landed them a trip to the mtvU Woodies Awards and earned their video, "We Love Like Vampires," primetime coverage before the Woodie Awards, which air tonight on MTV, mtvU and Palladia at 10pm ET.

We thought the best way to get to know these lads -- who released their album Eyes To The Sun this past May and have shared a stage with All Time Low and Hawthorne Heights -- was to get to know their taste in music and videos (and music videos) by playing a little Playlibs with them.

Pull a seat up to the fire of knowledge as the Sparks lads reminisce on first seeing NIrvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video, churn some butter over Weird Al Yankovic's "Amish Paradise," lavish praise on Radiohead and spill some details on the Twilight-goes-retro charm of their "We Love Like Vampires" clip, which will air on MTV before the Woodie Awards tonight.
