The Maine Tour Blog, Part 1: All The Young Dudes

Confession time! We've been obsessing over The Maine ever since their debut album, Can't Stop, Won't Stop dropped this past July. Partially cause of their killer guitar riffs, laid-back indie rock style and Boys Like Girls-like harmonies -- and partially cause of shaggy-haired lead singer-slash-hottie, John O'Callaghan. (Gah!)

And since we haven't had a chance to catch the guys on their cross-country pilgrimage -- a.k.a. the Compromising of Integrity, Morality and Principles in Exchange for Money tour -- we figured we'd have them send us a little update from the road. (BONUS: This means The Maine (or at least their tour manager) officially knows our email address!)

Check out these pics of the band tearing it up on tour, then read on to find out why John's simultaneously plugging prez-to-be Barack Obama -- and calling this the "absolute best tour" ever.

We've been on tour now with All Time Low, Mayday Parade and Every Avenue for about a month. For me, this has been the absolute best tour I've ever been a part of. All the dudes we're rolling with are all so down to earth and easy to get along with.

On top of that, all of the shows so far have been amazing. Every person who comes out is so stoked to be a part of the show and is really into the music. We honestly couldn't ask for a better tour. It's depressing to think that we're already about halfway done with it all! That just means we'll have to party extra hard for this last month, haha.

Thank you to everyone who has come out to a show, and we hope to see y'all in the near future!

Change is on the way.

Sincerely,

John and The Maine

+ Bonus: Those of you uninitiated types might wanna check out The Maine's latest single, "Girls Do What They Want," (which was recently featured on The Hills!). Plus, head over to the guys' MySpace page for and more info and status updates than you know what to do with.
