RIP Liz Claiborne

First we mourned the recent passing of fashion legend Gianfranco Ferre. Now we shed a fashionista tear for Liz Claiborne, a woman who made her mark by making working women feel more powerful and beautiful with her conservative yet feminine professional attire. Founded in 1976, her company became one of the most successful fashion empires, counting Ellen Tracy, Dana Buchman, Laundry, Juicy Couture, Lucky Brand, and Narciso Rodriguez as their brands. And let's not forget about her cosmetics empire, which will be "Usher"-ing a new star powered line very soon. She was 78.
