The man responsible for making the world sexier with his designs is set to open his first ever store tomrrow, on Madison Avenue in New York City. And just in case you don't know who Tom Ford is, please click here. But basically the Texas born designer ruled the traditionally European couture world with his sexy (sorry, that's the best word to describe his work) designs for Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, and helped resurrect the iconic fashion houses. He left (depending on who you ask, he got let go) and has since then launched a make-up line, eye wear line, and now his own menswear line to coincide with the opening of his store.
From his interview with Fashion Week Daily:
"So, as a customer, you walk in and you're greeted by a lovely young lady. You'll be encouraged to make appointments with your fitter. We'll be closed to the public in the morning and open only by appointment only from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We're open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and then closed again from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. But if you come in and don't have an appointment, we will gladly help you. We have butlers that really are butlers and housekeepers that are part of this—it's run like a house. We don't do your laundry or pressing, but we have a bar and they'll get you lunch catered from outside. The private fitting salons, you can stay in there all day. The two fireplaces work, but unfortunately, you can't light a fire in a retail space."
What no fireplace? See you at 8AM.
