Insert seven celebration hand emojis right here because FINALLY, we have some visual proof of that Damon Salvatore skin action we've been promised in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7.

Back in July, Ian Somerhalder assured all of us pretend fellow Mystic Fallsians that he'd be stripping down again in the new season, and lo and BEHOLD, it's true.

Somerhalder shared a new teaser clip from the show -- which returns to the CW on Thursday, Oct. 8 -- on his Instagram page Tuesday (Sept. 29) and captioned, "Why is Damon naked in this new Vampire Diaries Trailer...?"

Well, we have a few ideas:

1. We've been very good little "TVD" fanatics this year, and this is our lonooog overdue reward;

2. Damon's GF is currently chilling in a witchy coma for the next 60 years, so he's resorted to his trusty "birthday suit is fashion enough" mantra; and/or

3. Shirtless Damon draws an audience, and that's a fact.

Alaric says "you know, clothes would be nice," but shhhh teach. Nobody asked you.

According to Somerhalder's summer statement to Entertainment Weekly, we can expect about two episodes of Damon-in-the-buff as a primer to getting things back to the sexy Season 1-esque intrigue.

Say no more. We're sooooo there.
