Fox’s ‘Grease Live' Just Got A Lot More 'EMOTION'-al -- Here's Why

Carly Rae Jepsen has signed on to play Frenchy, so bust out your hair dye.

Carly Rae Jepsen is going to beauty school -- and then dropping out (probably).

The "Your Type" singer has landed the role of Frenchy in Fox's "Grease Live," set to air early next year, People points out. Jepsen joins a stacked cast that includes Julianne Hough and Aaron Tveit, who'll presumably steal our hearts as Sandy and Danny, respectively. The live show, which will air in January 2016, also features Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, Keke Palmer as Marty and Carlos PenaVega as Kenickie.

You can see it, right? CRJ's sweet demeanor. Her bold pipes. Her poise.

Oh, and there's the fact that she starred in "Cinderella" on Broadway last year, too. Given all that, we're super excited to see her in full '50s-era attire and, of course, bubblegum-pink hair.

Jepsen released her second studio album, E·MO·TION, in June, and has spent her 2015 Dubsmashing with us, busting a move with Tom Hanks and knocking covers out of the park on the radio -- among other things.

Jessie J will reportedly be there, too, opening the show with a new performance of "Grease (Is The Word)."

Watch Carly go totally '80s -- which is different than the "Grease"-era '50s, I know -- with us below.
